Dear editor,
We are a team of six, walking in the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. Saturday, Aug. 9, we held a barbecue at the Orangeville Mall. I would like to thank the RioCan Managers for allowing us the opportunity of having this event at the mall, and all the help Margaret LaRoca gave us in getting the event ready to run.
I would like to particularly thank Scott, owner of Buy Rite Boxed Meats, who provided supplies and barbecued for us. Zellers helped out with pop and water. Zehrs, Home Hardware, A&P and Walmart all gave us gift cards, and Dollarama, in the Zehrs plaza, donated some items.
The barbecue raised $900 for this most worthy cause. There are many teams in the walk from Orangeville, but the people of this town are to be applauded for the support they give. We cannot raise the money to provide Princess Margaret Hospital with the funds they need without everyone’s help. Thank you all
Maggie Holden,
on behalf of the “Goody Two Boobs” team
