Dance movie workshop
Registration is underway at Studio III Dance for a four-hour choreography/dance session with some of the cast from Hairspray, including Everett Smith, Jade Anderson, Jennifer Abbey and Cory Gowericz. The day will be broken up into two age groups, 8 to 11 and 12 and up. The cost for the session is $89.25. Email info@studio3dance.net or phone 519-940-3840 for more information.

Teen centre fundraiser
A fundraising event will be held on Sunday (Aug. 24) from 4 to 10 p.m. in support of the The Door Youth Centre, which was robbed earlier this year. The event takes place in Jack Downing Park on Main St. in Shelburne, and includes a fundraising barbecue, draws and a free concert. The event is being sponsored by Holmes Music & Appliances, Tattoo Addiction, Petro Canada, Tony’s Street Meat, M&M Meats and Foodland.

Music lessons
High school music teachers Doug Mcllwain and John Werves are teaming up to offer low-fee musical instruction on instruments such as alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone horn or tuba. Instrument Music Program for the Beginner will be held on Tuesday nights from Sept. 16 to April 21 at Orangeville District secondary school from 7 to 8:30 p.m, at a cost of $50. Students must bring their own instruments or a rental of $229 for the session can be arranged. Phone 519-941-1837.

Pet Party
Buddy Bites Bakery, an all-natural animal treat vendor, is holding a pet party at the Orangeville Farmers’ Market this Saturday (Aug. 23). All pets are welcome. Games, toys, samples and doogie bags will be provided free of charge. The party starts at 8 a.m. and run until 1p.m. Phone 519-940-2622.

Bake sale/car wash fundraiser for Choose Life takes place on Saturday, Aug. 23, not Sunday, Aug. 23 as reported in Tuesday’s newspaper. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Canadian Reformed Church, 55 C-Line in Orangeville.
