A 68-year-old Markdale man died in hospital Thursday night, five days after a collision in Primrose.
Police say the man was eastbound on Highway 89 when his 2003 Chevy was struck by an oncoming Pontiac attempting to turn left onto Highway 10.
The force of the collision sent the Markdale man into a light pole. He was taken by ambulance to Headwaters Health Care Centre and airlifted to a hospital in Hamilton.
Dufferin OPP say the Pontiac driver, an Orangeville woman, was also taken by ambulance to Headwaters hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.
The woman was charged with fail to yield. Acting Staff-Sgt. Dave Quinton says the charge won’t change in light of the Markdale man’s death.
