The Orangeville Junior A Northmen are celebrating 30 years of Northmen junior and senior lacrosse in Orangeville and community.
Beginning as the Orangeville Senior Dufferin Northmen in 1978, the Northmen have represented the community in various forms throughout its history, offering one or more of Junior A, Junior B or senior teams each season since.
Along the way Northmen teams have won three Minto, two Founders and three Presidents Cups and competed in 13 other national championships.
The 2008 Rayburn Construction Northmen have chosen to mark the occasion during their Saturday, June 28 game against perennial rival Six Nations Arrows. Game time is 5 p.m. at the Tony Rose Memorial Sports Centre. All alumni, fans and sponsors are encouraged to come out and support the team, meet old friends, view the memorabilia at the beer garden, and enjoy the elimination draw event and dance after the game.
